Professor Stephen Cordner appointed Fellow of the AIIA
To celebrate its 75th Anniversary as a national institution promoting interest in and understanding of international affairs in 2008, the Australian Institute of International Affairs (AIIA) launched a Fellows program to recognise exceptional contributions to Australia’s international relations. The program aims to acknowledge excellence in Australia’s international affairs community.
Nominations are assessed in confidence by a selection committee made up of members of the AIIA’s National Executive and existing Fellows of the AIIA. The criterion for selection is that the candidate has a strong connection to Australia and has achieved a very high level of distinction in, and made a distinguished contribution to, international affairs.
Professor Stephen Cordner AM, Professor Emeritus, Department of Forensic Medicine, Monash University and Consultant Forensic Specialist, Victorian Institute of Forensic Medicine was selected as one of the 2019 Fellows of the Australian Institute of International Affairs (FAIIA) for his distinguished commitment to mass casualty management, disaster victim identification and international forensic medical capacity development.
