The histology laboratory prepares the tissue biopsies collected during an autopsy so that the pathologist can examine the tissue for microscopic for evidence of disease or injury. The laboratory work includes preparing specialised tissue stains, frozen sections and immunohistochemistry which may provide diagnostic information that helps the pathologist identify the diseases present.
