About

Dr Kean Kuan is the Chief Medical Officer and Deputy Director of VIFM. Joining in 2023, Kean provides clinical governance expertise and medical leadership to the institute’s forensic pathology and clinical forensic medicine services.

Dr Kuan is a medical practitioner and specialist medical administrator, with dual Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators (FRACMA) and Australasian College of Health Service Management (FCHSM). He also holds two Master’s degrees in health management and healthcare research. He brings with him a wealth of health executive experience across metro and regional Australia to ensure the medical services delivered by the institute are of the highest quality and delivered efficiently and effectively.

Dr Kuan works collaboratively with the Director in setting and delivering the strategic goals of VIFM. He also works with other executives, Heads of Services, and Deputy Director Academic Services to implement systems of clinical governance, develop sustainable medical and nursing workforce, quality and performance monitoring, as well as champion clinical engagement in service delivery, teaching and research.
