Dr Margaret Grigg OAM

Dr Margaret Grigg is Chair of the VIFM Board and was formerly Council Chair at VIFM. She is a highly experienced healthcare professional. She was awarded an Order of Australia Medal for her services to mental health.

Dr Margaret Grigg OAM is Chair of the VIFM Board. She has had a distinguished leadership career across health and government sectors and was formerly Council Chair at VIFM, CEO of Forensicare, Executive Director of Health Services Policy and Commissioning at the Victorian Department of Health, and COO at Mind Australia. 

Margaret is a non-executive Director of several Boards including, Mind Australia, Colac Health and Health Share Victoria, and an expert advisor to the Orygen’s Quality and Safety Board subcommittee. She is on several government committees including Chair, Interdisciplinary Clinical Advisory Committee supporting the implementation of the recommendations from the Royal Commission into Victoria’s Mental Health System.

In 2023, she was awarded an Order of Australia Medal for her services to mental health and in 2017 was named as one of Victoria’s top 50 Public Sector Women. Margaret began her local and international career in the health, mental health and human services sector as a mental health nurse at Plenty Hospital.  She has PhD from the University of Melbourne (Department of Psychiatry) and a Master of Science (Health Policy and Administration) plus a Masters of Bioethics.

Margaret remains committed to the mental health of staff and the provision of best care to the community.
