Current Research Activities

Four themes endorsed by the RAG that the Institute will pursue over the coming year(s) are -

  1. Road Safety Research including research on driving ability and licence retention of older persons,
  2. Use and validation of CT scanner in forensic medicine including development of a skeletal database in anthropology, patterns of fractures and other abnormalities, and biometrics such as determining normal and abnormal organ weights in various disease states,
  3. Pharmacogenomic research to identify genetic disorders of metabolism and adverse reactions to drugs in suspected drug deaths, and
  4. Application of databases for research into prevention and public health including the epidemiology of work-related deaths.
