SEXUAL ASSAULT

The examination of people who have been sexually assaulted is a specialised area that requires an integrated approach from a number of health professionals. The Institute provides a 24 hour service to conduct forensic medical examinations on victims and survivors of sexual assault.

PHYSICAL ASSAULT

The forensic medical assessment of physical injuries may be the only objective evidence in relation to a physical assault. It is vital that the injuries are documented accurately and interpreted expertly. Studies have shown that the most accurate way of documenting and interpreting physical injuries is by engaging a practitioner with forensic training and expertise.
