People 2003

The old cliché - people are the most valuable assets of any organisation - is only half true. It's the people plus a commitment to their work and the organisation that denotes true value to an organisation. It may not directly appear on any financial report, but, in this regard, the Institute is rich. The VIFM is fortunate in having a committed group of staff that has enabled it to establish a national and international reputation for excellence.

This commitment is demonstrated in staff willingness to accept the challenges presented by today's changing workplace and demands. The Institute is thankful to the staff for their efforts and contribution in what has been a very successful year.

During the year, the Institute recognised the services of a number of longstanding employees and their continued efforts are appreciated.

An organisational culture committed and conducive to ongoing staff development is important to ensure the continued provision of services. Just as critical however, is staff willingness to contribute to their development by taking part in the relevant training programs. The list of staff who have taken an active part in their development highlights their commitment and the commitment of Institute staff generally.
