Anthropology case load

 In 2002 there were a total of 17 cases for which a formal opinion was sought. As is typical of previous years, cases fell into three general categories: distinguishing animal from human remains; confirmation of identity where visual examination and forensic odontology had been unable to assist; and confirmation of identity in the case of suspicious death. Several of these cases, as well as cases from previous years, are now coming to court.
