The VIFM is accredited to:
ISO/IEC 17025:2005 for Forensic Science in the following applications:
- Forensic Toxicology,
- Forensic Biology including DNA and Parentage Testing
AS 4633:2004 (ISO 15189:2003) for Medical Testing incorporating the Forensic Operations Module in the following applications:
- Microbiology
- Bacteriology
- Serology of infection
- Anatomical Pathology
- Histopathology
- Autopsy service
- Autopsy facilities
- Chemical pathology
- General chemistry, and
- Molecular Genetics
Therapeutic Goods Administration - TGA
The Donor Tissue Bank of Victoria is licensed by the TGA to retrieve, process, store and distribute human allograft tissue nationally.
The DTBV operates a TGA licensed laboratory to perform microbiology testing of virology screening, syphilis and microbiological contamination testing for tissue donors.
International Standard Organisation - ISO Certification
Corporate Services and Development of the Institute (incorporating Quality & Improvement, Finance & Business Services and Human Resources & Organisational Development), has certification in ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management Systems since November 2003.
