Dr Soren Blau awarded 2013 Churchill Fellowship

Dr Soren Blau, Forensic Anthropologist at VIFM, was recently awarded The Sir William Kilpatrick Churchill Fellowship to study technical aspects of analysis and interpretation of skeletal trauma in medico-legal investigations in Peru. The official Presentation of 2013 Churchill Fellowship Awards was hosted by the Governor of Victoria – The Honourable Alex Chernov AC QC, at Government House in Melbourne on 26 July 2013.

The Churchill Trust was established in 1965 to honour the memory of Sir Winston Churchill by awarding overseas research Fellowships known as “Churchill Fellowships”. Since its inception The Churchill Trust has awarded Churchill Fellowships to more than 3,700 Australians who, like Churchill, are innovative, filled with a spirit of determination and possess a strong desire to benefit their community.

Churchill Fellowships allow applicants to design their own research project, travel the world and further your knowledge in their chosen field, before returning to make a real contribution to Australian society.
